When super cold meets super hot

Air Liquide has unique expertise and specific know-how in the design and manufacturing of customized cryogenic equipment necessary to cool down the devices of fusion plants (Superconducting magnets, cryopumps, thermal shields). We supplied highly reliable cryogenic equipment and cryolines for the biggest fusion projects of the last 25 years: Tore Supra in France, JET in Great Britain, SST-1 in India, KSTAR in South Korea, and JT-60SA in Japan. For ITER, we are supplying the biggest centralized refrigeration system ever built. 

Air Liquide teams support you in all the stages of the project, using a global approach that combines design, commissioning, operations and maintenance.

Our products

The way to cool down cavities and cryostats

Air Liquide supplies customized solutions in mechanical cold production, liquefaction, storage and distribution of cryogenic fluids at very low temperatures. In particular, Air Liquide provides tailor-sized cryogenic solutions dedicated to particle accelerators and synchrotrons that make use of superconducting magnets, radiofrequency cavities and particle accelerators.

We supplied highly reliable cryogenic equipment for some of the biggest particule accelerators in the world: Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland, LCLS II in the USA, SLC 2-3 in Korea, SOLEIL in France, DIAMOND in UK.

Our products

Helium liquefaction

HELIAL™ helium liquefiers are a turnkey cryogenic solution for applications in superconductivity, nanotechnologies, biology, quantum physics, the characterization of materials, and space exploration. The central element of the HELIAL™ is made up of turbines based on our static gas-bearing turbine technology, which can reach speeds of 300,000 revs per minute with the highest measured on-site Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) value on the market, namely 150,000 hours.

Helium refrigeration (Air Liquide's standard Helium refrigerator)

Air Liquide's standard Helium refrigerator HELIAL™uses helium to supply a cooling power in a large range of temperature from 77 K down to 1.8K. Adaptable and easy to use, they are designed for research centers that require cryogenics for synchrotrons, cyclotrons, and particle accelerators.

Dilution refrigerators

Since 2001 CryoConcept designs and builds Ultra Low Temperature dilution refrigerators. With an experienced team and being part of Air Liquide group we provide a very high level of expertise for our customers.
CryoConcept is able to provide standard to highly customized products in order to answer each customer’s needs. With many of our devices running for more than 1 year without shutdown we have demonstrated the high reliability of our systems.
