The International Space Station celebrates its 15th birthday today!

  • Space

Nov. 20, 1998, Zarya, the first module of the International Space Station, was launched.

July 2006, MELFI, the "space fridge", for which Air Liquide designed and developed the cold producing turbo engine, got onboard the International Space Station. Today, MELFI still operational and fulfills its NASA mission, as a cryogenic freezer that can preserve biological and other scientific specimens or experimental results.

Air Liquide wishes a happy birthday to the International Space Station, genuine orbiting laboratory, establishing a continuous human presence in space since 2000.
