Biogas purification
The biogas purification units are based on Air Liquide membrane technology designed for all types of biogas. Scalable, the modular systems designed by Air Liquide cover flow rates from 300 to 10,000 Nm3/h.
During membrane biogas purification, methane is separated from CO₂ and then recovered before liquefaction operations.
Applications
Once the biogas has been valorised by Air Liquide, the recovered methane is :
- Either injected into the natural gas network and delivered to the point of use by natural gas suppliers (tertiary, industrial, domestic and transport uses).
- Or liquefied and transported (bioLNG) for use as a fuel, notably in maritime or land transport.
A player in decarbonisation
As a player in the energy transition, Air Liquide offers innovative solutions to valorise biogas. Thanks to the use of cutting-edge technologies such as CO₂ separation membranes enabling its recovery, Air Liquide contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
